In line with the belief that “Prevention is better than cure,” Ahon sa Hirap, Inc. (ASHI) organized a free eye check-up for its members and their families on April 11, 2025, at the ASHI Head Office in Brgy. Halayhayin, Pililla, Rizal.
The initiative, part of ASHI’s commitment to the holistic well-being of its members, provided consultations to 150 individuals, many of whom suffer from cataracts or pterygium (pugita)—two common but treatable eye conditions that significantly affect quality of life.

Following the consultation, 66 members were identified as candidates for free eye surgery. The operations were scheduled and successfully conducted on June 27–28, 2025. Out of those scheduled, 33 members arrived and underwent the procedure, receiving life-changing care that restored or improved their vision.
This effort is more than just a medical mission—it’s a testament to ASHI’s ongoing mission to care for the overall health and future of its members.
